Frequently Asked Questions
“Why Choose Courtesy Gas over our competitors?”
Courtesy Gas Co. is a locally owned & family operated, affordable, full service propane supplier. We strive to offer our customers the best service at reasonable prices. We have set pricing without “temporary discounts” or “additional fees.”
If you are switching from another propane supplier to Courtesy Gas, we’ll schedule an appointment to install one of our propane tanks at your location, conduct a system safety check, and notify your current supplier of your desire to switch so they can pick up their tank after we install ours.
When you call our office you speak to a person not a robot. Our phones are extremely busy yet we do our very best to answer every call so that you get the personal service we feel sets us apart from our competition. If by chance you do have to leave a message we diligently check our voicemail and return calls as soon as possible.
“What are the different tank options?”
We provide several options to consider including leasing vs. buying your tank. Whether or not to go underground or above ground with the tank. Tank location & size of tank needed is dependent upon the required gas safety specifications & the amount of gas usage; which we can determine when we provide your free, no obligation estimate.
Customer-Owned Tank – If you already own the propane tank at your location, we can provide service to you on either Keep-Full or Will Call service whichever you choose.
“What are my delivery options?”
Courtesy Gas offers free Keep-Full and Will Call Service.
With the Keep-Full Service, we will come top off your tank every 3-4 months (provided past balances are paid). As a Keep-Full customer, in the event that you run out, we will provide same day service to you at no charge. We do ask to please let us know of any unusual usage or consumption increases, such as Generator or increased Pool Heater usage.
As a Will Call customer, you are responsible for monitoring your tank and calling us when you need propane delivered. We’ll deliver as soon as possible or when we have other gas deliveries in your area. Call to find out the day we are in your area. If by chance you run out of propane we will restore your service the same day for a fee which is $50.00 during working hours and $100.00 after hours and weekends.
“Do you offer payment options?”
Courtesy Gas offers the following payment options:
Online Bill Pay – This is the most convenient method of payment for both our customers and ourselves. By clicking on the Pay Online tab or under the Contact Us tab on our website & activating your account you have total access to all of your account information including invoices, payments etc. You can also add your credit card information for a one-time payment or save to your account to charge when you choose (i.e. after a delivery or monthly). This is a very securely encrypted payment method and encrypts your card information so even we cannot see it!
It is also greatly appreciated as it is as beneficial to us as it is to our customers by decreasing the amount of time spent on the phone taking payments and increasing the time available for other, necessary important business.
Pay by Mail – If you prefer you can also conveniently mail your payment to our office in the envelope provided with your statement each month.
Pay in Person – You are always welcome to stop by any of our locations to make a payment on your account.
Monthly Statements – Activity statements are mailed out at the beginning of each month for customers with balances. If you do not have a balance on your account you will not receive a statement that month. To receive faster you may also request your statements be sent electronically to your e-mail instead of through the mail.
“What areas do you provide service in?”
- St. Augustine, FL
- Hastings, FL
- Palatka, FL & East Palatka, FL
- Elkton, FL
- Palm Coast, FL (limited to high usage customers)
“At what percentage should I call in for a delivery?”
When you get between 25-30% we recommend calling the office to schedule a delivery. We service certain areas on specified days of the week so when you call we will schedule your delivery on the day that we are in your area. When you call the office we can let you know what day is your specified day.
“What happens if I run out of gas?”
We can’t emphasize this enough: don’t let yourself run out of gas! This can be an expensive, and an inconvenient experience. When you run out of gas your pilots will have to be relit and this requires a separate service technician call than our bulk gas delivery drivers. In this case we will have to schedule a service call & the home owner will need to be present. Home owners will incur additional charges for a service technician call.
*If we are delivering a 100# cylinder of gas only and not filling by the bulk truck we can relight any pilots as a courtesy provided the home owner is present and we are able to access the appliance. (i.e. Fireplace)
